Available Cows

Meet the Jerseys Looking for a Home

We raise only a select few calves to offer for sale each year, and on rare occasion will offer a cow that is in milk (or about to calve). Availability will be posted shortly after birth, and updated from time to time as weaning draws near; which varies between 4 to 5 months of age.  This allows us to sell them to you vaccination free;  yet having had plenty of milk to give them the best foundation for a long and productive life. See the article on "Why Calf Sharing and How We Raise Our Calves" for more detailed information. Though we specialize in first time owners and offer lifetime mentorship, we do prefer those with some experience in livestock handling and care.  A dairy cow is a serious investment, and we take the success of both you and our cows very seriously.

Our Herd

Good Cows Start With Good Breeding

We keep our herd small on purpose. Every cow is chosen and raised for health, calm temperament, and the wonderful creamy milk that Jerseys are known for. The animals that we offer to you are animals that we would be proud to keep for ourselves (after all, we can't keep them all! I tried once;  it didn't work out too well)

  • Purebred Jersey genetics selected for longevity & gentle temperament
  • Raised on open pasture and grass, never confined
  • Halter-trained and handled daily (females only)
  • Bred for rich, high-butterfat milk you can taste

Articles & farm notes

Practical guidance about Jersey cows, raw milk, and life with a family milk cow.

Raw Milk

How herd shares work

A herd share means you buy a small ownership stake in our Jersey herd, which entitles you to a portion of the raw milk it produces. It’s how we’re able to share fresh raw milk with your family legally and locally.

Family Milk Cows

Choosing the right family milk cow

Tell us what you’re looking for, and we’ll talk through your land, experience, and timeline. You can meet the herd and choose the cow that is the best fit before she comes home.

Farm Pickup

Milk pickup and cow transport

Herd-share members pick up fresh milk at the farm on a regular schedule. For cows, we coordinate pickup or transport options with each family directly.

Visit the Farm

What to expect when you visit

Visits are by appointment so we can give you our full attention. Come walk the pasture, meet the cows, and see firsthand how they are raised.

Our Herd

How we care for our Jersey cows

Our Jerseys live on open pasture and graze on grass, with care taken to keep them healthy, calm, and well-handled throughout the year.

Kind Words

Loved by Montana families

Our family milk cow came home gentle and already halter-trained. They walked us through everything and checked in after. You can tell they truly care about their animals.

The Hendersons

Bozeman, MT

The raw milk is the best we've ever had — rich and creamy. Picking up each week has become one of our favorite family routines.

Sarah & Tom

Herd share members

We visited the farm before buying and felt completely at ease. Healthy cows, beautiful pasture, and honest people. Highly recommend.
